Changes in the Seasons, Changes within herself

She sits in the fire light, basking in the warmth that she was too weak to provide herself. The energy could not be wasted. As the Solstice approaches she knows what she had been suspecting all along. She is becoming like her cousins.
Astrid was Alfar. A light elf, from a noble family in Alfheim. She was cousin to the sidhe of the Tuatha and she had always felt a kinship to them, even though she had been wyld. She was not aligned with any court nor had she stepped foot in Faerie. But she had been feeling a change in herself over the past year that she had spent among her kith and building her power through the Sithen. The energy of Faerie that permeates the lush forests and warm waters of the pools in the Sithen had encompassed her, drawing her even closer to her cousins.
She closes her eyes as she basks in the warmth of the flames. She had been feeling it for weeks now, her energy slowly weakening and saving Scarlett hadn’t helped her strength. The Solstice was nearly there and it had finally made it sure of what has happened. She has become Seelie.
