[05:02 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Today we will be talking about angels. What they are, what the concept is. Light and Dark Angels, and how do you even manage to play something like that

[05:05 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: An Angel is is a Divine creature. A being that has been created by a higher being for the purpose of doing their will. An angel is basically a cosmic tool, a messanger, and agent of a higher power.
[05:06 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Now those three labels Tool/messanger/Agent are extremelly important
[05:06 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: At its core, an Angel is a servant to a higher power. They exist for a purpose, and it is this purpose that they express here on the corporeal world.
[05:07 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Sounds simple right? I'm sure it does. But then why are so many angels so irritating to be near? Same as vampires really, not enough went into them. And they turned out one dimensional. Well, today i'm going to arm you with the thoughts and ideas you'll need to make yourself the best damn angel you possibly can.

[05:09 PM] Genesis Barthelmess smiles. "Lets begin then. Legacies tell us that Angels are agents of a higher power, that are organized into light and dark. Angels can fall, and demons can be rdeemed. Simple enough right? legacies SPECIEFICALLY does not seem to give you more than that to let your imaginations run wild."

[05:10 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: To build an angel, you need to then decide what kind of angel you want to make? Since it isn't directly specified but implied, lets assume that Angels of Light are utilized by 'goodly' powers. and that angels of darkness are utilized by "dark Gods"
[05:11 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: The most important thing for us to remember is that Angels aren't born. They don't come screaming out of angel vaginas up in angel land with angel hospitals and angel doctors.
[05:11 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: You don't go to Angel school where you get beat up for your angel lunch money by angel bullies who want your angel food cake.

[05:12 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Angels are MADE. You are manufactured. Created from the very divine essense of a power or diety. That is a HUGE difference between your common vampire, your general werewolf, or your psychotic axe murder.

[05:12 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Angels come from their Gods and powers. You are MADE because you are needed, because a messanger, or tool, or servant is required. And most gods cannot simply act on the mortal plane for one reason or another.
[05:13 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Becasue of this a portion of their divine being, the stuff of creation is forged into a shape, and then sent to act in that god or powers stead. And angel is effectively an INTERFACE between this world, and the divine world.

[05:15 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: So you have an angel, the spark of divine stuff, and you put it into the mortal world. Now there are options.
[05:16 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And when you make your angel, you need to pick an option, a way in which you exist.
[05:16 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Some Dietys and poewrs just make the angel, and then plop it inot the mortal world. TA DA!!

[05:17 PM] allison Bluebird: suppose you create the "good" angel but find one you are here.. you find yourself lured towards the darker aspects . .can we fall from grace here

[05:17 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: angels are failable.
[05:17 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: As much as they don't want to admit it, they are /not/ dieties.
[05:17 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And in most aspects of roleplaing even DIETIES fuck up

[05:18 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Being divine takes willpower, but when an angel has a will of their own, they can find themselves now conflicted between what they are driven to do, and what they /want/ to do

[05:27 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: does this mea your angel doesn't feel pain?

[05:27 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Angels feel, thats one of the flaws in their making
[05:27 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: We will assume the feel emotion, pain, anger, sorrow. The whole gammut.

[05:28 PM] Patch Reina: aren't Angels and Demons basically the same when it comes to immortality?..basicaly beign the same thing when it comes right down to it...

[05:29 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: but we will cover that later
[05:29 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Now, we are going to add a word to your vocabulary

[05:29 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Basically it means to come apart at the seams, and turn into essense, for the examples we willb e using
[05:30 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Your angel should be killable in the sense, you can destroy the body its hijacking, you can wound its physical form to the point it doesn't work anymore
[05:30 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: You can even get a vacuum and teach mr. ghost angel a lesson
[05:30 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: But angels are made of divine will.
[05:30 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And so when they are 'destroyed' they are discorporated into angel stuff, and must reform, or grab a new body, or find a way out of the vaccum.
[05:31 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: When your angel is destroyed, there are a couple of options. Perhaps your god or power now hauls your ass back to the divine plane for a good old round of "what the fuck was that?"
[05:31 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Or perhaps you just discoproate for a while until you can reform, or get a ne wbody. Angels are woundable, they are harmable, but their curse is you can't kill them easy. Usually it takes another divine power
[05:32 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: So angels who are not very strong may face getting gang banged by other factions for the sheer amusement of it, that is of course until they snap.

[05:37 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Now once an angel is done with their purpose, sometimes they are pulled back, sometimes they are re tasked, and sometimes, they are destroyed after

[05:38 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: In this third case an angel may try to actually switch sides, find a new power to employ them, or turn demon if they can to avoid getting thrown in the angel garbage disposal

[05:38 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Tanya, do you think an angel can change their employer?
[05:39 PM] Tanya Nandahar: Well....it would seem possible, if we are working with multiple God concepts. I am sure it is, to say the least, Frowned upon lol

[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: very much so
[05:40 PM] Ceri Quixote: wouldn't it sort of be like your hand cutting itself off and reattaching itself to someone else.... pretty tricky too I'd wager

[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: angels are made from a specific poewrs essense
[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: This is what drives them
[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: feeds them
[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Its what lets them exist
[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Without this connection they just fade into nothing
[05:40 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: they litterally do /not/ exist
[05:41 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: So they have to purge the essense from their system, and be refilled, and then they take on this other gods goals and wishes
[05:41 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: But it might not help them in the long run, angels, and this is important, are SLAVES
[05:41 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: I nessense they owe their entire being to something else
[05:41 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And they are trading one master for another.
[05:42 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: An angels ENTIRE make up may change when this happens. If one god was powering you to have a phsyical body, but another one uses servants that must hijack bodies, the angel now loses their body
[05:42 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And must hijack a vessel. And don't get me started on what happens when angels of that pervious power find you
[05:42 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: You pissed off a GOD
[05:42 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: They don't forget that.

[05:43 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And your new power which takes you will have to factor that in, do they /really/ want this flak? But it is a way to save yoruself from the disposal should your god be the type to erradicate angels when they aren't sueful anymore

[05:43 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Angels at their core are forced to love their god
[05:43 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: That may turn into hate over time
[05:44 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: But you are DRIVEN to love something, even when you might not anymore. Its enough to make you go mad...and sometimes...angels do.
[05:44 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: So now we have angels, and purpose, angels and other powers. So i'm betting you want to know about demons eh?

[05:45 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Lets touch on the nature of how angels become demons, and why.

[05:45 PM] allison Bluebird: is there a governing body for the angel group .. i mean we make our own rp etc .. but is there a higher level here ?

[05:47 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Rp wise, its safe to assuem some gods that are horny for angels set them up into sectors and angel types. Like archangels and the like, but as to a complete outside governing source....
[05:47 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And some gods are absolutely BATSHIT happy for angels
[05:47 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: as they are a symbol of that gods power
[05:47 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: So what /is/ a demon?

[05:50 PM] Patch Reina: Assuming we're stikcing to a kinda biblical theme here, Demons are essentialy angels that have turned from their god's ways or are decended from their devil.
[05:50 PM] Patch Reina: besides sating themselves, their purpose is to corrupt and taint anythign they see as pure...right?

[05:51 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: We'll assume that demons are used by infernal powers, negative engery beings. But also if an angel completely manges to give their god the finger.
[05:51 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: and REVERSE their purpose
[05:51 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: They will become a demon
[05:52 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And divine engery, light or dark, will no longer sustain them
[05:52 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: The will need to find a contractor to privde them energy or get it themselves
[05:52 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Angels aren't always the good guys, remember that. They are a reflection of their god or power and some gods are down right dark or evil. that doesn't mean they /don't/ have angels
[05:53 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: But it does mean they are /divine/
[05:53 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And conversly
[05:53 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Demons that mange to reverse their nature, and become attuned to divine engery can be redeemed into angels.
[05:54 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: In each case, both faction has to reverse their existence, and then become something else. A painful process which can often undo an angel.

[05:54 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And of course, what will the other side think?
[05:54 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Don't expect to get along with ANY angel evil or otherwise
[05:55 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Becasue you commited the ultimate sin, not only did you telll your god where to stick it, you managed to pervert your existence into a mokery of what it once was

[05:56 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: these are the flaming sword, multi voice talking angels. They love their god, they love their mission. And they will never stray from their gods path

[05:57 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: The hard part about being a divine angel is that you are precericed as perfect. When in actuality you are not. Divine angels may pretend they don't feel anything in order to try to run from having feelings.
[05:57 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: but equip with genital s or not, love is hard to deal with, as is anger. And even simple companionship. Thes eangels try to make themselves as cold as possible, and bask in their powers divine light because they feel it keeps them PURE

[05:58 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: They will crash and burn as fast as possible once they tip over.
[05:58 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Then you have your earthy angels
[05:58 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Earth Angels are angels that are here, and may have a mission

[05:58 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: but their god is sort of hands off on the whole thing

[05:59 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Sometimes these angels start to emulate non divine beings by wearing different clothes, using new weapons
[05:59 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: they might drink, or smoke, or take their sweet ass time getting things done -
[06:00 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: They are here, but because they aren't bathed constantly in the divine force they often make their own conclusions.
[06:00 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: these angels, despite their flaws are often hard to get to fall
[06:00 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: they /love/ their god
[06:00 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And their power loves them back, but they don't impose on them. Which is just fine, when the chips are down and the call comes down to get shit done, earth angels are often the first to be on the front lines to do their job.
[06:01 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Neglected Angels are fun as well. A neglected Angel was born, given their essense, their purpose, their form...and then just aboandoned on the corporeal realm

[06:02 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: neglected angels have a penchant for trading masters when they can, once they start to feel the presure. Because they like all angels have to love their power

[06:02 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: For some of the neglected, they decide when god hand s you lemons, you FIND A NEW GOD
[06:03 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And then you have the "Lost Angels"
[06:03 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Sometimes your god loves you
[06:03 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Or he or she doesn't.
[06:03 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Sometimes they give you the breath of existence
[06:03 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: lovingly wrap you in your armor, put your wings on yuor back and send you to the mortal realm

[06:04 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: the transfer didn'twork out all the way, some of you was lost, or your wings got torn off
[06:04 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: These angels have to deal witht he fact that they wake up with nearly no connection to their god, they are left aren't sure what to do, and they can't find anyone to help them out
[06:05 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: They know who they are, they know why they are here, but they don't know exactly what they should be doing. They dont know what it is they were sent for. And so they must find their own reason for existing.

[06:05 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: And just make another one to replace them, and now you have an angel that is stuck here...because no matter what the angel tells you?

[06:05 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: If you can't go home, you can't go home
[06:06 PM] Genesis Barthelmess: Most angels precieve their homes as paradise. So how do you think they feel being stuck in this shit hole?
