[11:26] Lady Leigh Luv: I have found also if you restrict who you RP with that in the end your only hurting yourself...because that player though you may not know them may add to your RP in a way you never thought of

[11:30] Okori Inaka: So, the effect is to make a three-dimentional interactive persona and let the storyflow, to be a roleplayer, rahter than to 'Author' a story, to get it situations to play in your favor. Correct?

[11:42] Sasha Branagh: this isnt a video game..this is a virtual world chat room, where we interact w/others and here as an RP'er we interact but its a continous thing

[11:51] Lady Leigh Luv: you get to a certain point again freezing the scene
[11:51] Lady Leigh Luv: in SL that does not happen
[11:51] Hellhound: Okay I've had some people ask me to pause the RP because of real life needs to be picked up the next day. Is that something I should not do or agree to?

[11:52] Lady Leigh Luv: what if they can't get back for several days
[11:52] Hellhound: I've actually had that problem come up
[11:53] Lady Leigh Luv: why not just agree to end the scene right then and say that you have to go for some reason do an exit

[11:53] Lady Leigh Luv: you can IM a person to coordinate a RP to get when both of you will be online

[12:01] Lady Leigh Luv: this lets those that work in the hospital find a plausable reason to go to the hospital
[12:01] Okori Inaka: Problem I have is this, as a new player in this genre. There's too much that's 'unknown'. There are too many things that just need to be 'figured out', or 'found out ICly'. By the time a new person gets to RP, they know nothing. Shouldn't there be fixes to that? What could be suggested?
[12:02] Lady Leigh Luv: actually we are working on some of that to make it a bit easier for new players..like an introduction the preface of a book

[12:04] Okori Inaka: Lots of times. And when I get to where I'm going, there's always information packets about everything I can possibly ask about, including the 'who's-who' of the important people to know, and maps, locations, directions, and more. Usually, so much information, it takes me days to get to know it all.
[12:05] Lady Leigh Luv: the same goes here..there is a map, you have the quests there are locations listed on the wall
[12:05] Okori Inaka: IRL, you just walk into City Hall and pick up papers.
[12:05] Lady Leigh Luv: in the main tp room that takes you to the game floor

[12:06] Lady Leigh Luv: the idea is to get into the immersion
[12:06] TriJin: In 1891, the census was drastic.... hence the need to make inquiries privately and on your own.

[12:17] TriJin: An author describes everything around them, including the inner details. That is called Metagaming in the RP universe. So switch from being an Author and become a RPer... describe what the people around you can only see, hear or smell... nothing else.
