[05:07 PM] Dahlly: If they give you two lines and you dont want to fight, does it matter? Can they still attack you?
[05:07 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: and of course you would want to wait for their response so on your next post it would have your action
[05:08 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: they can but there are always ways to talk your way out of things and that depends on the RP

[05:08 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: as with all conflict RP once the challenge rule has been applied...it is good to then talk OOCly about it see if one wants to have an ST present

[05:13 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: we use the numbers mainly for qualifyers
[05:14 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: like the d6 is normally used for durations
[05:14 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: how long something may last
[05:14 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: it could be based in full rounds, minutes, hours, days
[05:15 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: we will only go to weeks on certain types of wards for like a home...or if a player wishes to let a certain condition last longer
[05:15 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: that is agreed upon OOCly
[05:15 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: for instance we had one player had their sex changed for a time and he chose to do the rp for weeks and had a blast with it
[05:16 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: d4's we also use as a qualifyer to sometimes determine the amount of damage
[05:16 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: 1=25% - 4=100%
[05:17 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: but I will remind all of you..your character cannot die unless you OOCly agree to it...you can be gravely injured and on the brink but never fully dead
[05:17 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: same goes for permadeath...any questions about that?

[05:18 PM] Hellhound: Is there a way to make something permanent?
[05:18 PM] Hellhound: Like on an object
[05:18 PM] Hellhound: To create like magical items and shit.
[05:18 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: only if the player agrees to it OOCly
[05:18 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: as far as items it depends on the item
[05:19 PM] Hellhound: Okay in which case I would contact an ST
[05:19 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: no one can create something that would make them invensible for instance
[05:19 PM] Hellhound: Right.

[05:19 PM] Hellhound: But like say I wanted to make a sword that never had to be sharpened
[05:19 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: exactly and not really any fun to RP with

[05:20 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: actually that is possible..and you can speak with an ST about it

[05:21 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: if you do not it could be constituted as failed unless the other player allows you to reroll it

[05:26 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: when using the dice you want to be detailed and ensure the other player understands what it is exactly what you are trying to do
[05:26 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: so lets say I just want to throw a pot at nic

[05:27 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: if I am not clear in where I am throwing that pot...then even if I am successful he can then respond it hitting him where he choses

[05:30 PM] Lady Leigh Luv watched and listend to Kilav and had enough of his impertant behavior. to get his attention she grabbed the cup of tea before her aiming for his head she tossed it at him hoping it would break.

[05:31 PM] Hellhound: Okay this is the part I get confused on anyways so I'm glad it came up

[05:31 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: ok think of it this way as I got a 4 and you only got a two I would do an environment in this manner

[05:33 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: the dice determine if we are successful for not
[05:33 PM] Dahlly: why did you roll the d4?
[05:34 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: there are critical fails which means you have become the biggest clutz on the face of the plant so not only can you hurt yourself but still possibly harm the other
[05:34 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: the d4 is our qualifier
[05:34 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: he only got a 2 which really isn't much
[05:34 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: I got the 4 so ya the tea hurt
[05:35 PM] Dahlly: so even though you critically failed, he could still get hurt?

[05:35 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: think of also going to kick somone in the shin
[05:35 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: have you ever seen where a heal gets caught you fall on your face and cause another to fall?
[05:35 PM] Kiah: so you have the die roll to determine the damage of the fail
[05:35 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: yes
[05:36 PM] Dahlly: and the d4 is only on critical rolls?
[05:36 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: I would never do it without the dice...if he only got a one I would envirnment it only hitting his shoe not really hurting him but the cup hit him

[05:36 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: think about say hitting someone in the jaw
[05:36 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: what different things can happen to your hand?

[05:38 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: hence the reason for the d4
[05:38 PM] Kiah: so do you always both roll a d4 for damage?

[05:44 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: at any time that you are unsure about any actions there is no harm IMing the other player and letting them know you do not understand what they are saying
[05:44 PM] Hellhound: and don't be afraid to ask an ST lol they are awesome.
[05:44 PM] Dahlly: I never engage in combat but never know i might wanna kick someone's ass someday *giggles*

[05:49 PM] Dahlly: is there a distance factor for pvt? and is the roll result totally random or level based?
[05:50 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: the roll outcomes is based on a set target number which brings in an algorhythm of your stats....the player you target has a resist factor
[05:50 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: that is what determines failing or succeeding
[05:50 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: and when you fail your character gains wisdom and intelegence as well
[05:51 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: there is always chance involved but you do have set target numbers and it changes all the time so as an ST we can't even tell you what your target number is

[05:54 PM] Hellhound: I've seen players and done it myself once or twice to help convince people to do something they might not normally by means of a magical suggestion is that the proper way to do that?
[05:55 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: I would say it depends on your intent....I have used the assist in that manner but I ment in a way to help
[05:55 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: as far as magical I actually use a two step process
[05:56 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: first is to break down their defenses by breaking their anticurse and then I use muddle them to try to open their mind but iin that case it isn't for a nice reason

[05:56 PM] Hellhound: LIke to make them do something against their nature?

[05:57 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: think about muddlethem, it is an ability that you have and it would make them unsure...off balance...that is the idea of what you are going for

[05:57 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: as I have said in previous classes study the abilities
[05:58 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: look at the discription of what they do and see how you could use them in your RP

[06:06 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: now what would be a plausable way you might be able to determin gender using the discovery
[06:06 PM] Kiah: I would pay attention to see if they describe thier voice or thier movements

[06:07 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: actually aura doesn't cover gender nor race for that matter

[06:08 PM] Kiah: and mine..oh boy
[06:08 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: and it is usuallly attitude...sorta like mood rings...and I probably just gave away my age

[06:08 PM] Hellhound: I would be in bounds to say something like a lot of black's reds' and greys?

[06:10 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: or to get their full history?

[06:11 PM] Hellhound: In the case of my title for example where it blatantly states what my character smells like would it be acceptable not to ask in IM what you would end up smelling? Or is it a good policy to just ask anyways?

[06:12 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: ok here is what the discovery is about
[06:13 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: no matter the success of the roll you can only give what is asked for and only fair to your fellow players
[06:13 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: if you are asking for scent and get a stellar I would say it is gonna be a bit before you can smell anything else
[06:13 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: if you do that in the cafe in general then you would get a mixture of smells
[06:13 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: as I said you can only get what you ask for
[06:14 PM] Lady Leigh Luv concentrates upon Kilav her nostrals flare slightly as she inhales with her mouth slightly opening hoping to zero in on the scents.

[06:15 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: so what would you tell me in answer to that?
[06:15 PM] Hellhound: sshould i post the answer or just tell you?
[06:16 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: that is your choice if some of the information is something you don't want accidentally metagamed then an IM is appropriate for I am the only one doing the discovery the actual action
[06:17 PM] Lady Leigh Luv: personally I usually do it in IM only giving them the answer based on what they RPd

Um, well lets see it was a stellar so you would clearly smell the blood and smoke that is his normal scent and if you are sensitive to magic you would smell kind of ozone smell after a lightning strike of raw magic, on a stellar i would probably say you would smell the mechanical oil in his pocket watch, the smell of clean clothes, and the blood he drank earlier, and possibly the fact taht his body is permanently in a state of decay.
