First hand information ( in response to Lady Vedis )
(1 post)-
Naia reads the response made by Lady Vedis. Shaking her head when she reads where Lady Vedis says that Naia had second hand information. Picking up her fountain pen she begins to write a rebuttal.
When she is done she sets out to make sure the citizen know the truth.First hand information vs Second hand
Well citizens, once again I take pen to paper. I think I shall have to start my own paper for this city. First I wish to set straight Lady Vedis remark that I do not know what I am talking about because I have second hand information. That is not true. The person that gave me the information was involved in the plan to attack Saerrn. The information was FIRST HAND INFORMATION. My finally speaking out and sharing this information with you, means you the citizens are receiving it second hand. But I ask you, is that not what the News of the World does? It prints scandalous items that the writers themselves did not take part in, nor do they bother to see if any of it is true. Yet Lady Vedis didn't complain about what they wrote.
Interesting that she deemed it necessary to discredit what I wrote. She did not say that I lied. but implied that I didn't know what I was talking about. She knows very well that I told the truth and if any of you out there do an investigation into Lady's Vedis pass I am sure you will find records of her battle with Saerrn, and how she started this feud.Again this nonsense about the punishment. I say get over it. This is not your fathers London. Before it was not legal to do a flogging but now it is. A precedent has been set. I hope that if there is another person is attacked that they offer the same punishment. Keep flogging on the books and I think they should use the stocks also. They are both good deterrents. We need more that just a fine to stop the violent crimes that run rampant. Why do you think we can not get constables to stay? Why should a constable stay and fight crime if the only punishment is a fine. I can only imagine how frustrating if must be for them to see the criminals leave with a slap on the wrist, time after time after time.
When Lord Rune was mayor, he was the only one that wanted stricter laws. He stood alone against the crime that runs this city. Lord Rune is his own man. He is not in the pocket of Lady Vedis. He has his own family and is a man of honor. The citizens should ask him to please run again.
Truthfully yours
Naia Madruga
