LaRPS Ranged Weaponry

    I'm writing this based on my LaRPS trial run using the global system. Testing as many facets of the system as I could before deciding one way or another to commit my sim to LaRPS I've found that the ranged weaponry seems a bit too... Powerful for a lack of a better word. Now by no means am I planning on running a combat sim, but I'm not so delusional as to believe that it won't happen in my sim and it seems based off my testing thus far that anyone with the Blades of the Bandit equipped is going to win a fight. It simply fires far too fast.

    My suggestion, would it possible to add some code to ranged weaponry to give it an allotted amount of ammunition? This would seem to resolve the issue of having players running around your sim with unlimited machine gun knives.

    i agree if you were to add ranged wepons have like npcs around selling ammo or drops, things of that nature

    @Clayton:

    You make your own weapons. LaRPS only detects a collision with a bullet travelling faster than 15m/s, delivered from an active character. Melee is all handled in the system and requires no special scripts.

    You just have to ensure your players have ranged weapons that are suitable for your game realm. This is for you to monitor by placing guidelines. SL scripting is slow and if the LaRPS were to manage all aspects of a game then the lag would be unbearable.

    It is possible to give you a LaRPS System giver that excludes the Blade of Bandit... all you have to do is ask :)

    Also remember, that if anyone shoots another player that has no armor, no shields, low health and level.... then they will get hurt. So instruct your players and show them how to use IronArmor and protections.

    Also, as a realm owner, you get to choose the maximum health loss a bullet will take when it hits the Head, Chest or Legs. To disable bullet damage, you simply set it to ZERO.

    It's very possible to make ammo boxes and guns with limited ammunition. Go ahead and script them. They are not hard to do.
    I may consider making some for those who wish a more military style game, say for shoot outs, cowboy themes, etc. But my current focus at the moment is of Skills and Community Roleplaying. SL isn't that suited (as yet) to be a First Person Shoot Em Up. :)

    So I play a Native American character who who be a good user of the bow or a thrown axe.

    Would it be possible to make a skill so I can RP using the bow (not for combat)?
