    General

You'll notice the new HUDs have a more graphical look to them, making (I hope) a feel of better immersion into your scenes. Let me know if you prefer a simpler design as I have many ideas about making character specific HUDs.

There are various other internal bug fixes, mainly technical such as the defeated state bug. From what I know from feedback (which hasn't been a lot) those are fixed.

    PIN CODES and meter attachment
No longer will you see that introduction text when you attach your meter. This means cleaner chat logs and also means your PIN CODE isn't shown to you. If you forget your PIN CODE simply visit any LaRPS Hub and click on the "I Forgot My PIN" sign. You'll then be sent your PIN code through an Instant Message.

    Character Sheets
Constant work on the character sheets is being done. You'll notice more informative data on how your character is evolving, plus the extra tabs to sections. I hope you enjoy looking through them.
In case you didn't notice, there are ways to place a character image and public story on your sheet. Plus you are able to see how many battles you've won and lost. Plus Money transactions, locations explored plus much more. So go ahead and pull up your character details, take a look around. :)

Changes to the in-world HUD and meter attachments

    1. Protection from trying to set a lower Armor with /9IronArmor
This helps to preserve a higher armor rating. In the past, you got armor from Ragnoth and accidently hit Equip/IronArmor thereby removing Ragnoth's goodies. There is now a protection in place. If the armor you are trying to equip is lower than your current, it will ignore it and keep your better higher armor.
Your armor can still be removed with curses and the manual operation of /9removearmor

    2. Additional melee buffs
Two new buffs in the Equip menu:
Knife : very fast small damage.
Pole : very slow very high damage.

    3. Any Old Iron?
You'll notice the Equip menu no longer displays "Iron", this is to help with more immersion as your sword may be made of something a little better than Iron :P
Therefore, you'll want to change your commands to /9armor instead of /9ironarmor etc.

    4. Support for meter display nameplate in Singularity Viewer
If you use this viewer, the LaRPS overhead meter display attached to your avatar takes over the SL name. There are various options in the viewer to show display names, hide, etc.
See the Singularity web site for download and information : http://www.singularityviewer.org/

    5. Role Play Scene Mode Switch
You may switch to Scene RP mode. This is for those scenes where there is a round-robin rotation. Whilst Scene Mode is on, your health and strength won't regenerate automatically. This helps as certain actions of the round-robin may affect your health, as it's possible that your turn may take 30 minutes or more, so when it gets to your turn, your health is accurate throughout the scene.
    /9scenemode on
    /9scenemode off

    6. Character Melee target
There is now two modes of melee that you may set:
    /9melee target
    /9melee area

Melee Target is the normal traditional use. Whenever you swing a melee attack, it will only focus the damage to your selected target.
Melee Area is the new mode. Whenever you launch a melee swing, anyone around you within melee distance will have a chance to be hit. This mode is more useful in arena battles where immediate Targeting of another character is hard in a fast and furious battle. Note, that Abilities will still need to be target selected, such as BiteThem, PoisonThem etc. Don't forget that some abilities are AOE, such as PoisonAll which requires no specific target.

    7. LaRPS Sentinel
This has undergone some changes. As a character you are no longer able to see 200 meters in front of you. The names only appear if they are in your RP range, typically about 20 meters. The exception are Party members where you may still detect where aParty member is even outside your RP range, eg: at 194meters.

    8. Geographic and Location Bar
You'll will also notice the text line area. This is your location. Some parts of the game realms have addresses, such as Ten Bells basement, Commercial Street etc. Your Sentinel will display the name of where you are to better guide you are the realm. This is also linked to the new Exploration Skill so finding new areas improves your wisdom and ups your exploration intelligence. And you get a point for exploring all those dark and secret areas :)

There's a new command "/9where am i" which gives you the name of the location where you are standing.

    9. Help and ST/Staff
In the Help menu, you'll find a facility to make an immediate ST request. Simply type in a brief description of the reason for contact and the STs will be notified.
In these days of SL group chat lagging so badly, I think this facility should be used first when you need a Storyteller for a diceroll or to notify of OOC violations etc.

    10. Dice Rolls
This is the big change. I believe this new way is far more flexible and would take into account just about any scene. The combinations give great flexibility and inspires some creative writing on the results.
In the Dice Roll menu, you'll see Target, Self and Environment. From there you'll be asked what method, Physical etc. Then the type of action to perform.

See: LaRPS Scene Guide as examples on what to roll for various scenarios.

See: Dice Roll combinations for details on the new dice rolls.

    11. Skills
You are now able to teach a skill if you have Expert and above in that subject. When you teach a subject, it will give knowledge points to your student. You do this by using :

    /9 teach NameOfSubject

    For example:

    /9 teach Illusion

If you have a single person targetted, the knowledge only goes to them. If you have no target, ie: the HUD is blank in the target section, then the knowledge is taught to the area of 20 meters. Ideal for classroom environments.

Each of the skills do various things, such as Stealth makes detection of your presence harder, Magical skills improves chances on Magical rolls, etc.

To further your Skills up to a higher level of learning, there are objects in the game realm, such as Books. Some Characters hold Magical Classes so watch for their notices on their Schools.

A list of current skills are here: http://larps.net/skills_and_professions.php
This is not a final list, as many new ones are constantly being added.
