Finally, the efforts of MMO developers (we're a tough breed) have caused the Linden Lab team to gear up the regions for what we most need, in order to deliver a less laggy MMO experience.

In Rodviks latest speech, he talks about pathfinding and giving "life" to NPCs. This is obviously something you LaRPS lot have seen over the last year in the Legacies realms, but now SL will have native tools to get it done "better". This is a great piece of news for people like myself and better news for you as users and adventure realms. It means the HUD will attach for you automatically and none of those stupid pesky sit-teleports. The experiences in the first quarter of 2012 looks promising indeed.

I only wish the Lindens could have done it sooner as I personally held back on all my pathfinding systems for over 6 months. Luckily "those faceless masses" were not a waste of code after all.

If you wish to read up on Rodvik's speech, here is the post in all its glory.

Happy Holidays to all and may your inspirations and creative imaginations be forever sparked to life within the virtual worlds of LaRPS and Legacies.
