    ◢ ◣ LaRPS :: Legacies Role Play System ::
◥ ◤ Fully Integrated Role Play and Combat System for Second Life®

    Version 0.25.4

    Quick Help Guide

    ▪ What Is LaRPS?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
LaRPS is character development role play and combat meter system. Designed for use in role playing environments such as MMORPG areas. Its prime use is for Role Play, as the features are designed to help development of the player's character as they do certain actions. The built-in dicerolls, Speak As Character and the unqiue melee system means your character actually learns in the background. Learning things improves your character statistics giving better success to situations.

    ▪ Getting Started
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll assume you've already unpacked your LaRPS so here goes.

    1. First locate the LaRPS in your SL viewer Inventory.
    2. Right click on the item named "Wear this LaRPS Sentinel v0.25" and choose "Wear".
    3. Right click on the item named "Wear this LaRPS HUD v0.25" and choose "Wear".
    2. Right click on the item named "Wear this LaRPS Meter v0.25" and choose "Wear".

If you have never created a character in your region, you should see a message asking you to create one.

    5. Click on the "Go To Page" button, when you see the popup dialog message.
    6. You will be directed to a web page. Simply fill in the details of your character.
Don't worry if you make a mistake. You may alway edit the details later.
Also remember your PIN Code, this is vital.
    7. On the web page, click the button "Save Character" and go back to Second Life.

If all is well, your avatar is now standing with what looks like your character name above its head.

Congratulations, you are all ready to go. Depending on the Game Realm you are in, go ahead and start RPing. I hope you have many hours of enjoyment playing your character. :)

    ▪ What's In The Box
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
The LaRPS Pack that lays in your Inventory contains a minimum of the following:

    1. "Wear this LaRPS Sentinel v0.25"
This is your Radar. It doesn't have the lag associated with typical radars and is designed to be only useful for RPing. You don't have to wear this but it certainly helps.

    2. "Wear this LaRPS HUD v0.25"
This is your Heads Up Display. It shows you your Health, Strength, Money etc. Nobody but you can see this information.
You may find it too low on your screen so go ahead and Edit it to raise it higher out of the way.

    3. "Wear this LaRPS Meter v0.25"
This is the display above your avatar. It shows your current Health, Strength and Life. It can be shown as percentages or as gauge bars. The display may also show status effects like "DEFEATED" or "POISONED".
Everyone can see this display over your avatar.

    4. LaRPS QuickKey gestures
These are handy pre-made gestures for you so it speeds up performing abilities, like Healme.
You are free to copy and modify these to suit your own style of play.

    ▪ How To Use
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    • How to Target
Some features require you to select a Target. This would be a Player or an object. Imagine you wish to perform HealThem on another player.

    1. First Target the person you want to affect. You do this by making sure you can see their avatar in your viewer. Get within 20 meters of the player then left click on the player's head or near the LaRPS name hovering above their head.
    2. Once a player is targeted, their name will appear on your HUD in an orange color, and a target menu will appear, asking what your next command will be.
    3. Now any commands you do that affect a single person will go directly to them.
This may be HealThem, giving money or performing any kind of melee attack.

    • How to clear the Target
In order to untarget a person, simply type in the command: /9cleartarget
Or, click on the player again and choose ClearTarget from the menu that is shown.
Or, click on the word "Target" just above the person's name on your HUD.

Performing any kind of area effect (AOE) such as HealAll, doesn't require any target selected as it will only affect the players around you.
