  1. Keighvin Silvansky | January 4, 2012 - 11:29 PM

[14:01] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Alright, it's two o clock. Let's get started shall we :) Welcome to Race 101 Were Creatures. I say were creatures because were's can be many types of creatures werecats, werewolves, wererats, and even werebids. A were is a creature that transforms or shapeshifts into an animal.
    [14:01] bellezora: Hi Dorian
[14:01] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): ohhh wolfie...*makes note to hide* I do Belle
    [14:02] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): werebids?
    [14:02] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): hi bellezora
    [14:02] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): werebirds
[14:02] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): But the main topic today will be werewolves, just so you know, I do want people to be aware that not all were's are wolves.
[14:03] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Werewolf also known as Lycanthrope, does anyone know where the word for Lycanthrope comes form without looking it up?
[14:03] Gamja Myanamotu: is it latin?
[14:03] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Latin words for wolf and human, lykus and anthropos
    [14:03] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Very nice Dorian
    [14:03] bellezora: excellentjob dorian!
    [14:03] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Greek works actually.
[14:04] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Lyacon was considered the first were wolf in fiction if I remember straight
[14:04] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): And I mispelled his name I'm sure
[14:04] Gamja Myanamotu: i thought it was Peter Stubea
[14:04] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Stories of werewolves have passed down through the centuries, legends and folk tales. Of men and women with the ability to shapeshift via bite, curse, or some other means into a creature- This Transformation is not limited, but is almost always associated with the full moon.
[14:04] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): I like looking up etypmology in my spare time. Lycaon, yeah, his name is based on lykus
    [14:05] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *coughs*
[14:05] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Can anyone tell me how to find out when the full moon is in Legacies 1891? Since the year is..shall we say different than that of the current year.
[14:06] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Isn't it on the forums?
[14:06] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): smirks.. watch for my moon posts?
[14:06] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): the legos calander has it
[14:06] bellezora: no, but i like taking pictures of it
[14:06] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Bingo Victoria. The Legacies Calender Announces the 1891 Full Moon Change. For those playing werewolves you will want to pay attention to this.
[14:07] Gamja Myanamotu: where do you find the Legacies Calender
[14:07] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): (whispers ... there is a post in the forum too)
[14:07] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): The Legacies Calender is posted on the Larps Website http://www.larps.net
    [14:08] Gamja Myanamotu: k
[14:08] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): You can find it under the About Larps Tab.
[14:08] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): There is also a forum post listing the time, as Astrid pointed out.
    [14:08] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): http://larps.net/lc/topic/1891-full-moon-dates
[14:10] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now the very first writings that are noted are the popular notations of the Medieval Chronicler Gervase of Tilbury, and the ancient greeks in the writings of Pertronius. Stories of Werewolves lurking in men and women's bodies has traveled down through time. There are a few things that almost all werewolves roleplay. Can anyone name one superhuman ability that werewolves have?
    [14:10] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Petronius^
    [14:10] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): strenght
    [14:10] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): agility
[14:11] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Superhuman strength, Very nice. Agility as well. There's a few more, anyone else?
    [14:11] Dryken: hearing
    [14:11] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): faster healing
[14:11] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Faster Healing, Better Hearing. What about the nose.
[14:11] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): senses in general
[14:11] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): smell.... ferocity
[14:11] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): I think about all the senses are enhanced with most werewolves.
[14:12] Persephone Kelaino Plutonian: ((PersephoneKore Plutonian has entered the area.))
[14:12] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): However, werewolves must have a..weak spot, so to say, there are four very common weaknesses of the race. OF all were's, really.
    [14:13] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): silver
[14:13] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Keep in mind, that you do not have to roleplay these and you may pick and choose, we do however ask that you do not create a character that is invincable, weaknesses are fun to rp too.
[14:13] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Silver is an excellent example.
[14:13] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): after shifting, most are weakened
[14:13] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Mm. Not as common Shadow, some play it that way.
[14:14] Morrigan De Cumhaill (alucard.paragorn): wolfbane
[14:14] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Most were's don't react well to fire. If they get burned they don't regenerate it as quickly. There are numerous stories that suggest this.
[14:14] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Loss of human personality during transformation, like with Lon Cheney. Would that be a weakness?
[14:14] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It could be very well a weakness Dorian,
[14:15] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): A lot of it is how you choose to roleplay it.
    [14:15] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It could also be a strength.
[14:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Another weakness that is commonly know is something much larger, rounder. The Full Moon.
[14:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Can anyone tell me how this could be considered a weakness?
[14:17] Dryken: would put a damper on a dinner date.
[14:17] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): the human has no control of the moon, it drives the shift whether they want it to or not
[14:17] Vincent Warrhol: it adds an element of predictability to the race
[14:17] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): well who really wants to be forced into something else once a month, wheter the wish to be or not
[14:18] Dryken: at last the female curse is understood...laughs
[14:18] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Very well though out Dryken. the unpredictablility of the moon. It's not something one chooses, but something that is forced upon.
[14:18] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): .... has an urge to say "amen, sister!" to shadow
    [14:18] Dryken: laughs
[14:18] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It could interrupt ones work, ones life it could make one a danger...to others.
[14:18] Vincent Warrhol: if an enemy was good with cycles of the moon they could predict when a WW might be vulnerable
    [14:18] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Very nice Vincent!
[14:20] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Excellent. Excellent ways to view the moon. There are many things and ways to rp it, some choose not to be affected by the moon.
[14:21] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Can one play it like they are able to change whenever they wish except that they have to change during the full moon?
    [14:21] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): One can.
[14:21] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Nobody can tell you how to play your character, as long as it's plausible your good.
[14:21] Dryken: how is that plausible? the older the more control or something?
[14:22] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): There are shapeshifters that are magic based instead of moon-cursed
[14:22] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Some werewolves rp that when they lose their temper, they lose control of their form and shift, others rp that when they are injured, or with ages. Some shapeshifters are magic based and not based on the moon.
[14:23] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): As ShadowCat mentioned. It's one of the reasons that we always firmly tell people that their is no "one" way that is perfect, keep it plausible, and it's Your Story.
[14:24] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Have fun with it. Thats what I do
[14:24] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): I personally like the idea of the weakness of not having control over it shifts
[14:24] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now, World of Darkness, which many of the werewolves in Legacies that I have seen, roleplay (But you are not limited too) has an excellent reason for the curse of the moon. In the forsaken, their is a special peice of backstory about the moon and the moon's curse, and why some are affected and some are not.
[14:26] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Long ago iin the world the spirit and material world mingled freely. Balance was kept by Father Wolf, a being of great power who patrolled the border between the spirit world and the physical world. Luna, spirit of the moon, was impressed by his strength and wisdom, and in her human form, took him as her love. From their union the were was born, part spirit and magic and part flesh, man and wolf and magic.
[14:27] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): As the years went by, some of Father Wolf's children saw he had become weak, and to prevent him from failing in his duties rose against him and killed him, intending to take his place. The Death of Father Wolf also raised the barrier between the two worlds, making it impossible to cross except in certain sacred places, graveyards, churches, nexus's, and the lie. Luna, stricken with grief, cursed all the Were's that had participated in Father Wolf's death and all those of their bloodline.
    [14:28] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): and the lei^
[14:28] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): This is perhaps one of my favorite bits of lore, as it it supports both those who are cursed by the moon, and those who are not.
[14:29] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It gives a new meaning to the curse of the moon, and why it is so bad, hmm? Now in a wolf pack, which some rp, are a couple of very popular positions, can anyone name a position in a wolf pack?
    [14:29] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Beta
    [14:30] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): alpha
    [14:30] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Omeaga
    [14:30] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): omega*
[14:30] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Okay, everyone knows Alpha, don't they. Alpha's are the tough guy leaders. Aren't they.
    [14:30] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): alpha
[14:30] Morrigan De Cumhaill (alucard.paragorn): Delta?
    [14:30] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): gmma
    [14:30] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): gamma
    [14:30] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): dzeta
[14:31] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): upsilon, mehta :P

  2. Keighvin Silvansky | January 4, 2012 - 11:30 PM

[14:31] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Alpha, Beta, Omega, Gamma, Delta. Never heard of anyone using those George. lol.
[14:31] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Can someone tell us what a Beta is?
[14:31] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): it's the greek alphabet, lame of me
    [14:31] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): It's like a true wolf pack
[14:31] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): I've only heard of the Alpha, Omega and sometimes the Beta.
[14:31] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Beta is the second in command under the Alpha
[14:31] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): however I meant *epsilon*
    [14:31] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): ok
[14:32] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): That's right. Anyone know what Omega means?
    [14:32] Dryken: the runt
    [14:32] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): The positon nobody wants
[14:32] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): I know where it is in the pack, but not the actual meaning
    [14:32] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *chuckles*
[14:33] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): the lowest class?
[14:33] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now that's actually different from several different lores. Omega actually doesn't mean runt in a lot of rp's, so you want to becareful about assuming. Omega's are many times rped as like being the pack's counciler. The person who won't rip your throat out if you need someone to talk too.
[14:33] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): The omega is the last to eat, is a lot of the times picked on by everyone else in the pack.
    [14:33] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Oh, I guess it's different with werewolves
[14:34] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): There is a difference in wolf packs and were packs. They are not exactly the same. You should never assume something unless you know it for sure.
[14:34] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby) is Online
[14:34] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): In most werewolf packs, the lower ranks don't even have a name. Just so you know. They are just known as part of the pack.
[14:35] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Alpha, Betta, Gamma, Omega, are usually ranks given to those who have special meaning in a pack, from what I've seen of the current rp in Legacies, so keep that in mind---not exactly the same. Don't get yourself caught in the trap of "This werewolf says it's an omega, that means it's a weak little runt, I'm going to kill it."
[14:35] Lucifrage Rofcal (lucifrage.koray) is Online
[14:36] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): because it just might be the most dangerous creature you've ever tangled with.
[14:37] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): I've seen several of the werewolves in this sim also used the World of Darkness Forsaken ranks for themselves. Depending upon the auspice, or the role upon which you are bitten---Rahu, The Full Moon, Warrior and Commanders.
[14:38] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Cahalith, The Gibbious Moon, The Visionary. Seers, Storytellers and Lorekeepers.
[14:38] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Elodoth. The Half Moon, The Walker Between. Diplomats, Judges and Arbiters of the Pack.
[14:38] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Ithaeur. The Cresent Moon. The Spirit Master. Occultists, keepers of lore, the Shaman of the Pack.
[14:39] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Irraka. The New Moon. The Stalker. The Scout. The Spie, and the Tracker.
    [14:40] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): o_O
[14:40] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Excellent ways to look at the werewolf traditional pack. There are many ways to view werewolves, some don't like packs, some do, and seek them, or even seek to "make" a pack by biting others for their own safety.
[14:42] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): You should remember that everything and anything can have a background and a history--one of the characters that I have seen in Legacies that rped as a Ithaeur, a shaman. Her friend roleplayed as a Rahu, and beat things up for her.Keep in mind that not everyone uses the same system, and keep an open mind, is the biggest thing I can tell you. Just because it appears to be something..doesn't mean it is. Just because a character appears to be weak and helpless...
[14:42] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Does that mean the character is weak and helpless?
[14:43] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): No it doesn't. Can anyone tell me one of the traditional enemies of a werewolf?
[14:43] bellezora: No one is weak and helpless?
[14:43] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): A character can rp that they are weak and helpless if they want, I'm just saying that appearances are sometimes decieving, especially with werewolves.
    [14:43] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Vampires
[14:44] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Excellent Shadow. In most fiction and legend, Vampires and Werewolves can't stand each other.
[14:45] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Kind of like cats and dogs. they glare at each other from the other side of the room. occassionally their will be a skirmish, but the war is never "won"
[14:45] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): It's weird because alot of folkloric creatures were considered both vampire and werewolf, like the lobishomen.
[14:45] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): There are two more traditional enemies of the were.
    [14:45] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Humans
    [14:45] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): humans?
    [14:45] bellezora: A silver bullet
[14:46] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *chuckles* A bullet isn't an enemy unless someone is shooting it. Humans, is the correct answer. Humans have been chasing a pretty werewolf pelt for their wall for ages. It's in just about every werewolf legend out there of humans that want a werewolf pelt..or react in fear and anger to werewolves.
[14:47] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Sigh, we werewolves are so misunderstood.
[14:47] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now their is one more race that is very much a traditional enemy of the werewolf. Anyone?
[14:47] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): ... thinks the tea room should serve werewolf stew once a month.
    [14:48] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Werecats
[14:48] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): other werewolves? hehe
[14:48] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *chuckles* No Victoria, although nobody ever said that werewolves where the tamest bunch hmm.
    [14:48] Vedis Seid is Online
    [14:48] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): I give up
[14:49] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Most werewolves rp that spirits are the natural enemies of the werewolf. Trying to cross over into this world and cross the border between realms. The border that those cursed by the moon are sworn to guard..this is very common. Ghosts in particular, often see a werewolf and consider them a massive danger.
[14:49] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): gulps -weretrouts too m'am- winks at vince
[14:49] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): and WEREMECHAS
[14:50] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): So, another weakness could also be that the were's have a great deal of people out there who don't like them, and are considered natural enemies of their race. Hmm.
    [14:50] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): huh
[14:50] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): didnt know about the ghosts
[14:50] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): I've seen it rped nine or ten times on sim Astrid. *bops her with a grin*
    [14:50] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Yeah that's a new one for me.
[14:50] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): New one for me as well
[14:51] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): in fiction it tends to be vamps, but that's refreshing
    [14:51] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): pbbbbt
[14:51] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): than again I stay away from wolves
[14:51] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): mw too, and to think I came here as a ghost ;_; didnt do my homework
[14:51] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): what if you're a werewolf ghost?
[14:51] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: cept fo meee shadow :o*
[14:51] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): a ghost of a werewolf?
[14:51] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): then you hate yourself
[14:51] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It is as I said, fairly common, and great rp. The werewolves as the guard between the spirit world and the physical world makes a great deal of sense, I think. they would naturally dislike spirits that have crossed over. Something that I applauded the few times I've seen it.
[14:51] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): your afraid of mirrors!
    [14:51] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *laughs*
    [14:51] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): lol
[14:52] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now, can anyone tell me how a were is made? Some instances of how it "could" happen.
    [14:52] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): bite
    [14:52] Mateem (mateem.batistuta) is Offline
[14:52] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): get glue and lotsa hair
    [14:52] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): curse
[14:52] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Being bitten is a common idea in modern fiction
[14:52] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Born that way?
[14:52] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): through satanic ritual
[14:52] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): wear tanned wolf skin
[14:53] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Magic wolf skin or ointment
[14:53] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): used to be the case in many older forms of fiction
    [14:53] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Bitten..Born. Wearing a wolf skin is aother.
[14:53] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: one of the old ledgens was a human drank water from a wolfs paw print
    [14:53] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): another.
    [14:53] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Very nice Mori

  3. Keighvin Silvansky | January 4, 2012 - 11:31 PM

[14:53] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Mori!! *waves from her seat*
[14:53] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Another is magic rituals that backfire
    [14:53] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *waggles brow*
[14:53] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): nice indeed
[14:53] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Wow, that's a cool one. I'm going to drink some water out of my dog's pawprint later.
[14:53] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: lol been reading bout this stuff since i learnd to read LOLOL
[14:54] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian) wonder if Zeus's curse was already said
[14:54] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): There are many ways to turn into a were, many types of weres. Now that we've discussed the strengths, types, and weaknesses, and ways to make a werewolf..
[14:54] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: * points to the magik idea* wich is why you never ever summin anything larger than a bread box LOL
[14:54] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Well, curses were mentioned I think and I think Zues' curse is encompassed in that.
[14:54] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): I know Io turned into a cow, but I never heard of werewolves in mythology
    [14:54] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): How about..how do you stop a werewolf?
    [14:55] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: silver
    [14:55] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): silver
[14:55] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): throw a cat at its face
[14:55] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): throw a pork chop in the other direction!
    [14:55] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): ghosts
[14:55] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): music sooths the savage beast...play it or sing it a song
[14:55] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): go and kiss it
[14:55] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Victoria this is not harry potter, I think Most werewolves would look at you and chomp away *grin*
[14:55] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: some of us are likely to stop for a person we have bonded with
[14:55] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): it could be...
[14:56] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *grins and tickles* Another way to stop a werewolf is wolfsbane.
[14:56] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Can anyone tell me about wolfbane?
[14:56] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: but then i aint yer normal lycan type
[14:56] Vincent Warrhol: is that an herb ?
[14:56] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): some rp more cruelly others do like some sentimentality and stuff yeah -coughs-
[14:56] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: is a perty flower .. yellow if i remember
[14:56] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): poisonousness plant, grows normally in autunm
[14:56] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: weres cant stand the smell
    [14:56] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): ooh
    [14:57] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): it's a plant, purplish flowers
[14:57] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *chuckles* Alright. Wolfsbane, known as Aconitum. Monkshood. Women's bane. Devil's Helmet. Blue Rocket. It's a purplish flower but it does have yellow breeds as well.
[14:57] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): In Ginger Snaps, you could use it to make a drug that staves off the curse.
[14:58] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): It comes in blue, purple, white, yellow and pink. Actually *waggles his brow and throws pink flowers*
[14:58] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): *coughs* can be found in a certain herbalist shop if I remember right
    [14:58] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): lol
    [14:58] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): >.>
[14:58] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): I have tones of it
[14:58] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Now a question for you. Is Wolfsbane poisionous to other races besides Werewolves?
    [14:58] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): i believe so
[14:58] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): It can be in certain dosages. Tht's why it's no longer used in todays medicines
[14:59] Vincent Warrhol: sounds like a narcotic by those names
[14:59] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): yes it is
[14:59] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *nods* Very good. The Aconitum, or Wolfsbane, is poisonous, it's used in Japan to hunt bears. The Chinese used it in poisons as well. Eating just a small ammount of it can make you very sick.
    [15:00] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): How much could kill a human?
[15:00] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: sounds like my sisters cooking
    [15:00] Zealot Sunkiller: hehhe
    [15:00] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): Haha!
[15:00] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): for future perusal for research addicts like me: http://botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/a/aconi007.html
[15:01] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): In Humans, Death usually occurs 2-6 hours in the case of more than 20 to 40 mL of Wolfsbane.
[15:01] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Keep that in mind when your throwing it around.
[15:01] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): in other words dont but it in your salad
    [15:01] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aconitum
[15:01] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall) thinks of making anti wolfy bombs for the full moon
    [15:01] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): put*
[15:01] GG Bloodshead (gg.balhaus) is Online
[15:02] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): -is reading the page alredy-
[15:02] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Probbaly not the best tool for detecting werewolves. You feed a room of people food laced with wolfsbane thinking it will only affect the werewolves and everyone ends up getting violently ill.
    [15:02] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: pouts
[15:02] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *grin* which could actually be a great roleplay Dorian.
    [15:02] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): lmao
[15:02] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): "Oops I was trying to get the werewolf"
    [15:02] Zealot Sunkiller: question
    [15:02] Reverend George (reverendgeorge): lol
    [15:03] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Go ahead Zealot
[15:03] Zealot Sunkiller: in my old RP it was used at a charm to prevent the change
    [15:03] Zealot Sunkiller: same here?
[15:04] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): I have seen that rped here once or twice
[15:04] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Most werewolves can't tolerate it at all, it smells bad, burns the skin for most, but it's your rp. However you wish to rp it as long as it's plausible. We don't tell players how to rp, we just ask that it doesn't make your character into overpowered character
    [15:05] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Other questions?
[15:05] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Silver did the same thing in the Underworld movies.
[15:05] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: i have one but its kinda ... odd
    [15:05] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): nope
    [15:06] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): oh I have a question!
[15:06] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Don't think that werewolves can smell silver, but I could be wrong *grin* Mostly a similiar reaction though.
    [15:06] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Go ahead Morighan
[15:06] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Sephy your next after Mori.
    [15:06] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): ok
[15:07] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: my charicter is actualy a wolf that can shape shift ... when tracking i end up making a LOT of rolls thats just for game reasons .. to extend time a bit i would assume?
    [15:07] Cinder Darkfire is Offline
[15:08] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): That's actually a good thing, rolling is one of the ways that you advance your character. think of it as not a straight line, but rather a scent that wafts around. You have to catch it. Thus the dice rolls.
[15:08] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: i dont mind much but having worked with animals most of my life as trainer etc .. dog/ wolf sence of smell is fantastic
[15:08] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): In the White Wolf rpg, there are wolves that became werewolves by gaining the ability to turn into humans.
[15:08] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: like drop of blood in 3 gal jug of water type fantastic
[15:09] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: way cool D ... didt know that
[15:09] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): *nod* we do have to be careful of not godmodding here Mori, that's one of the reasons that tracking takes so many rolls. It shouldn't be that easy just because of a race.
[15:09] LaRPS Meter v0.25: ((DarknessWithin Resident's meter has been detached.))
[15:09] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): There is quite a bit of legend about wolves that became humans and earned the ability to do so. Your right Dorian.
[15:09] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): right, but often it's because in the city, think of it as, being able to pick the one scent out of the millions of scents around
[15:09] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: kinda what i figured
    [15:10] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Sephy, your question.
[15:10] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): I wanted to know if someone used a spell or had the ability to emit sunlight how that might affect a werewolf
[15:11] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Wow, that's like a chicken or the egge kinda question.
[15:12] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): all depend on the rper is what I would think
[15:12] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Well most werewolves are just that. They would probably go flop down in front of it and stretch out.
[15:12] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): I would think it wouldn't have a harmful effect unless it got into their eyes.
[15:12] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): wolf nap
[15:12] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811): Sorry Kev, Need to head out. Family needs me. Thank you for the awesome class though
[15:13] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): so the lunar cycle sun cycle is a toss up?
[15:13] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): see ya Shadow
    [15:13] bellezora: Bye bye
    [15:13] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): bye shadow
[15:13] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): The lunar cycle affects most weres, not all--their's no firm "it's gotta be this way"
    [15:13] Sephy (persephonekore.plutonian): okie
[15:13] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): The sun as far as I know, has no effect on werewolves. They probably frolick in it.
[15:14] bellezora: But she also said a curse or something like that.
    [15:14] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Other questions?
    [15:14] ShadowCat (shadowcat1811) is Offline
[15:14] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall) wants to see Ceallach frolicing in the sunlight now, on his hind legs picking flowers or something
[15:14] bellezora: Do they always have to be in packs?
[15:15] Astrid Muircastle (astrid.floresby): ty kev... need to head out to work
    [15:15] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): My Lycan's a rogue at the moment.
[15:15] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): No as I said, some werewolves like to be the "loner" I don't want anyone around i don't answer to nobody type
    [15:15] bellezora: Dire?
    [15:15] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Yep
    [15:15] bellezora: Ha ha ha
[15:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): From my understanding a dire wolf is a bigger form of a regular sized wolf. Usually caused by magic and age.
[15:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Think horse sized wolf. From what I've seen in most rp.
[15:16] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Oh, no, she means my character, who's name is Dire.
    [15:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Ahhh.
[15:16] bellezora: Oh, is that where you got the name?
[15:16] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): Though, yeah, Dire wolves are definately awesome.
[15:16] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): Okay, any other questions guys?
    [15:17] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): and Gals.
[15:17] Victoria VanTassel (seras.tearfall): none from me
[15:17] D.Thorn2 (dorianthorn2): To bellezora - yes, that's where i got the idea. cool, eh?
[15:17] Alucard: ((DarknessWithin Resident is In Character))
[15:18] MorighanStormcrow Fairey: nods you rock Keighvin
[15:18] K.D. (keighvin.silvansky): The biggest thing I can tell you all is -Don't try to limit each other, keep it plausible. Their is NO one true way--these are just bits of lore to help you in your rp endeavors.
