The darkness of The Mind

The shadows took shape within the mind of the prior slave. They spoke of a warning, something was coming to test his resolve to the shadows themselves. He would stand there silent... listening to there warning. He would take a deep breath before turning his gaze away from where he was looking to. He walked off to the docks, looking to the boats that bring up scarred memories, the slave vessels of his past. His eyes... coal black as he gazed upon them, watching the workers and sailors do there duties to their... master, their captain. He watched for a time before turning his gaze away, listening to the waves beating against the shore. He would spot a worker passing by, staying silent... watching him pass. He would sigh a bit before heading off into the familiar darkness of the city he now hides in.

He arrived to his dark hide-away, comforted with the familiar shadows that fill the small tunnel. He stood there bathing in the shadows, letting his cape fall off his form for the first time in a while, standing there stark naked with just a lioncloth covering his.. privates. He basked there within the shadows, feeling comforted in full now, even with the warning. His eyes would go solid, obsidian black as the shadows fill him again, "Shadows.... I am... you... and you are... I." He would open himself fully to the shadows now... his mind becoming a complete shadowed landscape of memories. The darkness hiding the worst.. while showing him the best... the shadows.. being with him... being his new... family. His scars would flash briefly in pain... as the shadows take them away... becoming black circlets around his wrists and ankles.. his back.. becoming a landscape of umbra as the marks of his bond becomes full. He would crouch down and curl into a ball, in pleasure, as the shadows consume him.

Moments later, he would stand back up, leanding against the side of the tunnel, taking shallow even breaths... his eyes.. black orbs as he gazed into the shadows of his... home, "Thank... you..." The shadows would respond simply with taking his cloak and drifting it onto his shoulders and bringhing his hood back over to hide his face within the shadows that it created, the shadows hugging his form through the black cloak. He would smile slightly, with just an upraised curl of his lip before his face becomes the mask of darkness, almost no emotion on it. He would feel tingling on his wrists.. feeling the shadows there. He would look at his once scars with a raised eyebrow of a silent question before shaking his head, seeeing what the shadows have done. He would rub the black circlets that now reside as his scars, feeling the coolness of the shadows there. He would walk out of his tunnel to take a look into the sky, the dark sky of his home... smiling under the hood. He would turn to face the lamp that was near his home with a slight smile, not fearing the light in full.. understanding it.. better now. He would skirt the stronger areas of light to head past the lamp not feelign the light through the cloak as the shadows filled them.

He would walk off now... back into the city he learned that was called Legacies, feeling more secured in his freedom than ever before. The past.. will come... but it will be left behind.
