Why is RP so hard to get involved in?

I am not sure if everyone has experience with this problem, but I have had a difficulty joining role play. When I see a group role playing, I attempt to get involved, but only receive a post or two in response, then I am ignored completely. I understand Legacies is a vast community, and I am not saying all need to put aside what they are doing to give me attention. I'm asking for some advice. How does a person get involved?

Keep at it is the best advice I can offer...Travel all over the sims and rp with all different groups. In time, you will slowly begin to be known and to find the groups that fit what you are looking for. We have wonderful folks here who strive to include as many possible as makes sense for the rp's but sometimes it is more difficult than others and sometimes doesn't make sense. I spent time just listening and getting to know everyone when I first started while augmenting in my mind where I was aiming to go. Seventeen months later...I'm still here and love it everyday.

what jitter above said is indeed the best way to go about it.

Just walk around on sim, introduce yourself to people , talk to them get to know them, frequently visit locations such as the Cafe.. tenbells , fiendish pleasures perhaps.. anywhere really.. invite people over for a talk at the cafe perhaps?
once you get to know people they will become more open and maybe inviting to possible plots for your character to get involved on, don't give up and put yourself out there!. meet lots of wonderfull and interesting people!.

Also don't hesitate to step up to people and ask them for advice.. on say a a quest you might be following from the board, and maybe that person can help you find the missing link.. or piece of the puzzle you have been looking for!.. a great start and icebreaker would perhaps be the journal pages. ;-)..

    Good luck and happy roleplaying!

Think about how you enter a community in RL. What would your character do? Do you need a job? Sell a service? Have a favorite hang out? A skill or hobby? Invent a quest for yourself from your back story. Have a good back story, something to pique the interest of others. I arrived dressed in black with my husband in a coffin, the RP to get him buried led to some pretty good RP and connections with Players I still RP with. Go to the classes, not only do you learn, you meet other players, off the floor and get a sense of what our community is. Sometimes the best entry is not to expect others to join your story but to support theirs. The best RP is give and take, one day you are a star and the next you lift another player to the spotlight. In my experience, those are the most popular players. IM me, I would love to help you brain storm some ideas and give you a few hints! Welcome!
